Fathers rights in Pennsylvania are established by law. They relate to paternity, custody and child support.
Paternity: You have the right to petition the court for paternity testing if you believe you may be the father. If your paternity is established, you have the right to be involved in decisions such as whether to raise the child or place it for adoption.
Custody: You have the right to seek custody of your minor children. You might receive sole or joint physical custody or legal custody that protects your visitation rights with your kids. When you’ve been granted any form of custody, you have the right to be involved in major decisions regarding the education of your children, their religious upbringing, their involvement in organized activities such as sports and much more.
Child Support: Your Pennsylvania rights allow you to seek child support from the mother of the child. If you are required to pay support, you have the right to seek an adjustment in that support if your income decreases of the mothers income increases.
